A non-profit organization is different from other business organizations. All the business organizations do multiple things but their only motive is to make profits. All they want is profits and they create multiple strategies to make the most profits. However, it’s different when it comes to non-profit organizations. As the name states, these organizations are not chasing profits. They don’t want to make any profits, they want to make a change instead. There are multiple non-profit organizations in every country. Some organizations are on the path of giving education, some help women and so on and so forth.

All the non-profit organizations might work for different causes but their aim at the end of the day is to help people. They want to help people and make a difference. They believe that change is necessary and it can be only achieved if we start working towards them. There are multiple positions at a non-profit organization including a development officer. A development officer is responsible for raising funds for the organization because funds are necessary to meet the aims and targets.

1) Passionate about mission

Development officers have to be passionate about their aims. Many individuals find their work boring and they work under compulsion only. They work for the sake of getting paid, but this should never happen in this field. You have to be passionate about what you do because this field requires passion and work from the heart. Successful development officers always work from their hearts. They work with passion and what to meet the aims.

2) Influence donors

Successful development officers know how to influence their donors. They know how to influence donors in such a  way that the donors start thinking about sharing funds. Funds are very important for a non-profit organization, so successful development officers always make sure to speak in a right manner to influence these donors to invest for them. They know how to talk to the donors in such a way that they get impressed and invest in the non-profit organization right away.
