There can be private and public donors as well, who will donate to your institute. The investors who invest in your institute will expect to get some returns as well. They will expect to get a share of the profits. It’s not easy to find the investors. The development officers have to visit places, contact different people to find out if anyone is interested in investing in the institute.
3) Stay in touch with investors
The development officers are not just responsible for finding the investors but staying in touch with them as well. Finding an investor and not talking to him again won’t offer you any help. If you want to keep the investors then it’s important to talk to them once in a while. Let them know about the happenings in the institute. If they want to know something then go ahead and give them all the details. This will allow them to know about the institute they are investing in.
